Resumen
Azerbaijan is the best destination for Dagestan Tur hunt. This hunt is conducted on steep Caucasus Mountains at 8,500 – 10,000 feet (2,700 -3,100m). Each client is guided by 2 guides and hikes 3-4 hours from the base camp to the tented fly camp and stays there until he gets his trophy. In some places it is possible to use horses. Hunters should be in good physical condition for this hunt. Base camps are clean and comfortable hunting lodges and located at 5,800 feet (2,000m).
Dagestan Tur hunting is considered to be one of the most difficult mountain hunts. East-Caucasian Tur is included both in Capra and OVIS Slams that’s why it is very important as a mountain trophy. The average Dagestan tur will vary between 31”-35” with exceptional trophies sporting lengths over 40 inches with bases of 11-14” not uncommon. Trophies up to 15 years old have been taken by our clients, with averages at 10 years old.
We have 3 hunting areas in this country and about 110,000 hectares leased for hunting. The permits for the Tur are limited by the government, so we have a certain number of licenses.
